This is a research paper.

Here is the format instruction that the paper should follow.

ALL papers should have the following four parts:

A Title Page

Please adhere to the guidelines in the above APA style guides. At a minimum, should include:

Title

Your Name

Your affiliations (e.g. UCI)

ADDITIONALLY: Your SS3A HWID number should be included somewhere on this page

An Abstract

150-250 words summarizing the paper. It is ideal to summarize the following:

The research question

The major claim/hypothesis

A Description of the major reasons and summary of the evidence presented

The major conclusion(s) of the paper

Any other points that feature prominently in your paper

A list of the keywords that you feel best describe your paper topic and question

Main Body

This section may be divided into any number of subsections, possibly including:

Introduction

Background and Significance

Literature Review

(Methods)

(Results)

(Discussion)

Conclusion

Others

The bold section headings above will be used in nearly all papers for this course

Please see the pages that follow for details about the main body of your paper

Main Parts of this section should be identified using the Header 1 style

Subparts should be identified using Header 2, 3, etc.

You should ensure that these header levels conform to the APA style guidelines

References

All references should include complete bibliographic information as required by the APA citation system and should be formatted accordingly. All online references and electronically accessible journal articles should have a stable URL or DOI for easy verification if a reader has questions

Begin on a separate page at the end of the paper

Include “References” OR “Works Cited” at the top, centered

List all references alphabetically, and then from most recent to least recent (if you have multiple references by the same author)

Reverse-indent all references

In-text citation also should be included.

This is an outline wrote by myself, but I think it is not professional and detective. Can you help me make it better?

INTRODUCTION: A brief overview of GPS and how it help people in lives.

Technology, especially the GPS, is inseparable from people’s lives.

Figuring out the real functions of the GPS is the purpose.

There are two questions raised. How the GPS works?/How GPS help?

I believe that GPS based on signals from satellites and most of people are use GPS to navigate.

I have always been interested in GPS and I want to work out some puzzles about it.

Conducted few questionnaires, created a survey, and searched many studies are the methods.

GPS are indeed related to satellites and it can be used in every aspects in our lives.

Besides, GPS is a useful tool for both daily flights and military aircrafts.

The Global Positioning System is more like an invisible helper.

BODY: A brief overview of why GPS is connected to satellites signal and how GPS assist people in everyday lives.

Major Claim:GPS based on signals from satellites and most of people are use GPS to navigate.

Reason 1: GPS is a global tool that can locate any places in the world.

Evidence 1A: “There are currently between 27 and 32 global positions system (GPS) satellites in orbit around the earth. Of these, three act as backups. Each satellite transmits a regular GPS signal that is carried by radio waves in the microwave part of the electromagnetic spectrum” (Mio, no date, p.1).

Paraphrase: The GPS system is related to satellites. There are many satellites in orbit that support the GPS to work. The signal that GPS use is produced by each satellites. Those satellites transfer the GPS signal to each other then via a radio wave to support the GPS system.

Evidence 1B: “Each of the satellites is in an orbit that allows a receiver to detect at least four of the operational satellites. The satellites send out microwave signals to a receiver where the built-in computer uses these signals to work out your precise distance from each of the four satellites and then triangulates your exact position on the planet to the nearest few meters based on these distances” (Mio, no date, p.2).

Paraphrase: By this, satellites, receiver, and built-in computers are the main elements for GPS signal transmission.

Reason 2: Almost everybody has a electronic map on phone and car, so GPS can guide people to go to anywhere that they want to. Moreover, GPS can save people’s life sometimes.

Evidence 2A: “Digital mapping companies are working constantly to update the GPS mapping software and to make it available to navigation device users as quickly and efficiently as possible. Digital maps come with street level detail to help you to find your way from A to B as conveniently as possible” (Mio, no date, p.3).

Paraphrase: The electronic GPS map should be updated in order to keep accuracy because every year, some road would be changed and added. The map firm can immediately updates our GPS mapping app. Those updated software can tell us the road as detailed as possible.

Evidence 2B: ” But the reality is that there are far more applications of Global Positioning Systems beyond GPS vehicle tracking or map navigation that everyday people like us can benefit from” (Jack, no date).

Paraphrase: The GPS system can help people to navigate a location. That location could be a classroom, a restaurant, a hospital, and a sight. However, the GPS system can help people in other thing besides simple navigation. GPS could keep people safe when they get into an emergency.

Evidence 2C: “More than 77% of visits to fast food restaurants and supermarkets that were reported in travel diaries could be verified by GPS and GIS in terms of their location and individual establishments being patronized” (Scully, J. Y., Vernez Moudon, A., Hurvitz, P. M., Aggarwal, A., & Drewnowski, A., 2017, p. 41).

Paraphrase: Tons of fast food restaurants and supermarkets are identificated by GPS, which means that people can easily find almost all fast food place around them. In light of those locations of restaurants and supermarkets, GPS is able to search them within its own system.

Reason 3: GPS’s application on aircrafts.

METHODS: A brief overview of the way that I collect information and data.

Conducted few Questionnaires.

Subjects are people who around me.

Created a survey.

To collect more and true information.

Searched other studies.

To work out research questions.

RESULTS: A brief overview of findings-most people use GPS indeed in which way.

90% are using the Google Map to guide a way to school, classrooms, and restaurants.

The other may use the original map on their phone.

GPS is connected to satellites above the earth and it is global. GPS can be used in every aspects in our lives.

Not only could it navigate a way for people, but also it can keep safety of children or elder people.

The GPS can save people’s life when they are in an emergency. The GPS can locate people’s site or location and help emergency staffs find them.

GPS can navigate flights to an exact destination.

GPS can help aircrafts find precious locations or preciously locate something or places.

CONCLUSION: An overview of functions of the Global Positioning System.

GPS has already become an indispensable part of humans’ lives, especially its navigational ability.

GPS gives you real time traffic updates and finds the fastest route from place to place.

GPS software can make people know how long it will take them to get somewhere so they can plan ahead.

GPS is globally and connected to satellites on orbits above the earth.

GPS can navigate a way for people, but also it can keep safety of children or elder people. Moreover, the GPS can save people’s life by locating locations when they are in an emergency.

GPS’s application also in the field of aircraft.

I have always been interested in GPS because I literally use it every day, so I want to work out why it is so meaningful for humankind.

The Global Positioning System is more like an invisible helper.
